
Users of Verizon BlackBerry Internet Service and RIM are having significant issues getting emails on their handsets. According to users data, phone and other Blackberry services are still working. However the critical communiques employed by Blackberry email are not working. According to message boards media reports the outage is causing havoc for those workers who rely on the service for work purposes.
The email outage is affecting all BlackBerry users, regardless of their carrier. The issues are affecting the Verizon, T Mobile and AT & T customers.
Research In Motion Ltd. the maker of the BlackBerry phone confirmed reports that BlackBerry customers in North America "may be currently experiencing delays receiving email." Services like browser, BlackBerry Messenger, voice and SMS are still working. It might take some time to restore and resolve the problem so that the users can get back to their business on the phone.
Furthermore some users are complaining of extremely slow web browsing and the inability to view attachments.
RIM's BlackBerry service outage was experienced last time was in April 2007 and February 2008 when an upgrade knocked out the service.
RIMM shares were down $1.16 or 1.8 percent to $63.51 a share in late morning trading
